I believe the original name of my H25 'Richochet' was 'Adams Apple II'. They must have stuck with the apple theory too!

Yes, it was Greg Adams boat and wordplay on his name - Greg is Adcast Industries in Huntingdale and used to cast all the Holland bow caps, rudder/tiller casting, mast bases etc. launched at Royal Brighton about 1979...Greg and Geoffs SECOND H25 after their first shoal draft couldn't keep up with the race fleet so went again for a deep keel as is Adams Apple II....Doug April 2016............Got the names mixed there --- Apple Slice I think went to Adelaide, an apple green boat with thin orange/dark green line along topsides ? Greg Adams first shoal draft H25 was of course Adams Apple - now has a big Beneteau at Brighton I believe and would probably still help out Holland owners with original castings, bow caps toerails, rudder heads, mast base etc

Wow Hi all, I am the owner of Apple Slice and have been since purchasing her off my father in 96 She is currently moored at Wallaroo in SA"s Spencer gulf. I am certainly aware of the colourful history she has but its great to see some pics of her in her younger days She has had some considerable changes and engineering modifications over my time with her and must say she is a joy to sail Currently undergoing an interior upgrade for some extended crusing Cheers for the old pics

Great to see my old boat is in good hands! My fondest memory (and there were plenty in almost 5,000nm of sailing her) was doing the Adelaide-Pt. Lincoln race in under 24 hours (that is averaging over 6.3 knots based on the rhumb line), and beating Ken Banwell's sister ship by 50 metres after 150nm, only to be beaten by him on JOG because he had shaved 0.1ft off his rating by moving the forestay back a fraction! Another time, we were approaching a mark in the middle of the night, and Farr 42 footer Dynamite II was just returning from the mark. When they saw us, all the crew looked at their watches, as they realised we were way too close behind them than our smaller size should have dictated!

Hi Brent! Just a little more background on Apple Slice. My thinking on her colours was along the following lines. Ron Holland had just completed a 2 tonner called "Big Apple" which performed very well for the Irish Admiral's Cup team. Wanting to honour it, without shamelessly copying it, I changed the hull colour from dark blue to apple green, and the stripes from red and white to Irish colours of orange and green. On the transom, Doug Sharpin got a local graphics student to design the apple (with 1/4 missing, as it was a quarfter tonner after all!), with two black "pips" for eyes. I added the smile and my work was done! lol. are moulding outside Bolwell eading back to the Small Boat Club mooring

Hi. Chris here. We just purchased a Holland 25+4 in Adelaide. It has a near new Volvo diesel with only 62 hours on it. We have to sail it to our home port of Port Lincoln. That will be an adventure in itself. We intend to call it Mr Breeze. It should be a fun boat to have & the Port Lincoln keelboat fleet is decreasing in size so should benefit from a new addition. I’ll try to add a pic as well
