When the sink drain skin fitting broke off in my boat builder's hand (while on hardstand luckily), it was quickly replaced as it is just above waterline. Checking the rear floor drainage fittings a major risk, for all to check, was discovered. The photo shows the skin fitting (hoses are 1.25" ID tube size, by the way) with an extra drainage nylon fitting just siliconed into a hole through the side of the nylon skin fitting! It wasn't threaded but was JUST GLUED IN to take the drainage from the lifebuoy well (that I've cut out now anyway to fit hydraulic steering). This hose had actually pulled out of the large skin fitting leaving a hole about 15mm diameter. That is just above waterline at rest, but when sailing, a lot of water would have poured in through that hole. PLEASE CHECK ALL YOUR SKIN FITTINGS - ALL OF THEM - "a small leak can sink a great Holland 25!" Attachments:
